Hi, I'm krystine
I live for simple, joyful moments full of laughter and connection. I'm a wife, mom of 2 girls (+ a bulldog & 2 cats) and thrive best when my surroundings are COLOURFUL & HAPPY.
I have always had a strong desire to 'help people' and that has transpired into many adventures in my life- studying social work, volunteering with seniors, working for our local school board for 9 years, running mom & baby classes & events and spending loads of time with my family & friends.
All of these experiences, along with my Maternal Support Practitioner training with Bebo Mia has led me to Doula work. Being a doula means I get to fulfil my desire to help people while also making a difference in how families see pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
After having my first daughter in 2016 I quickly realized what a large gap there was in maternal care support. As women* we are thrown into this situation we know nothing about & are given little information about our options and how to cope with this huge transition. Then we give birth to this beautiful new life, get cleaned up, sewed up and sent home with minimal, if any, further support. Many moons ago when a mother had a baby it was a wonderful, natural event that involved the entire community. She was taught how to care for her new baby, received nourishing meals, childcare, support and so much love. I believe we can get to back to this place of celebrating motherhood, not leaving women isolated and lost. I know we can do this by shining a light on what modern day mothers are experiencing and building programs and services that allow them to be and feel their best. Our families need strong, calm, happy mothers in order to thrive. I am proud to offer Birth Doula services along with Postpartum Support both through my online program and in person. I can't wait to meet you, see if I am a good fit for you and learn how I can support your family during this season of your life.
